Hollywood Glam, I would suffice to say ingeminates their characteristics of not only their wedding day, but themselves as a whole.

Jenny’s mother had broken her arm AND nose the day before the wedding, a groomsman had recently broken (I suspect) an ankle (given the cast on his foot) and just as they started preparing for the ceremony, menacing clouds permeated the skies as a lofty test of her optimism. But! Jenny never once complained and quite the contrary, was thrilled to just become a wife to Jarred.

We all try to envision perfect scenarios for monumentous events in our lives, but as with human error and weather alike, we can’t ever guarantee nor should we ever demand perfection. Your wedding dress WILL become dirty eventually. (If not filthy, but only due to your outrageously amazing dance crowd!) Good news! These things can be cleaned. Also, people will be late. Tons of people will never RSVP yet but definitely show up. As irritating and dare I say – rude as it might be, they still want to be a part of your wedding day. Embrace them once your wedding day arrives. It just might rain on your wedding day. And while I say screw the adage that “Rain equals good luck don’t you know??!” it will be just fine (see below!). Unless you have a flood….that’s just not pretty.  Mothers, grandparents, and friends will make you crazy if you let them. (Especially on your wedding day!) My best advice and one thing I do very well: Laugh. Laugh, love, and embrace what comes.

Now you all owe me $6 for my sage wisdom.

My personal favorites from this swanky New York wedding. Enjoy!

Venue : Westbury Manor, New York.

Amid the freezing unusually cold (Sanjay you are a brave, brave woman for sitting in the middle of the street for me in that sub-thermal weather), getting all of our gear stolen hours before (lets not even start. k, thanks), peacocks, Christian Louboutins (♥!) a sword swinging belly-dancer, mixed with some fabulous move-bustin’ bridal party; it was a memorable day indeed. Sanjay has THE cutest style that I envy for my own wedding. (Louboutins and a Besty Johnson dress change anyone?) Mark (Noel) has the sweetest demeanor and after the early reception was done, he just sat and chatted with me for a while about the day, his family, and his new wife. I adore you Mark.

Thank you both for hosting a feast for my eyes and letting me document the sweet moments and all the eye-candy!

I present Dan+Dani. Albeit 7 months later…don’t hate. As you all know, blogging and I have a love/hate/hate relationship. Let’s just say we’re in counseling.

I never normally post photos of us shooting, but this day was crazy. There were SIX people shooting. Myself and Kyle + our friend, Ben and my ever favorite Northernlight Filmworks. Thanks for the photos Ben!

Oh, and that pretty personalized hanger? John+Jen (Northernlight) bought that for Dani on Etsy! I’m ALWAYS looking for better hangers than the craptastic ones that bridal salons give. Wouldn’t you think that after you pony up the cash for the dress they might consider giving you a plastic hanger worth more than 3¢?

Maybe next time you’ll be lucky enough to see what the right side of my face looks like. I wouldn’t count on it though.

Blogstalkers, stalk!

Yeah, yeah, yeah. This post is out of order. (And funny enough…its my blog! Its fantastic how that works.) I think its all the warmth (and alcohol) that has me reminiscing. It certainly wasn’t being held by the Mexican militia on a beach while speaking little Spanish (one day those many, many years of French will come in handy…one day) the day that I was trying to re-enter to shoot this lovely wedding at Grand Velas. Nope. It wasn’t that. You see people-you hang out with me and the strangest things in life will happen to you. I imagine that some people just must think that I love to make up the most elaborate, hilarious, and embarrassing stories but its all the truth I tell ya! If you want the full story, ask me! (Please. Its pretty fun to tell!)  Regardless, I hope you enjoyed the many luscious details and almost postcard-cheesy-perfect setting that I was able to capture. Leave Rob and Theresa some love won’t you?

SIX wedding attire changes in total.  Heirloom pieces. Custom made. Intricacy.

Besides the stunning array of garments, the people they adorned outshone them by insurmountably. Vani is what I would image a modern day queen to be. Stunning, gracious, intelligent, genial.  Shekhar has a je ne sais quoi about him.  Dapper, humorous, and driven are words that come to mind. He is a genuine person that visibly melts at the sight of Vani.  Upon commencement of the ceremony before Vani arrived Shekhar was very even keeled. (That is until Vani arrived and then a sly smile appeared…) I LOVE their smile and laughter and no one can do that as well for them as each other. I present… Dr. and ….Dr. …? Is that terrible that I don’t know how to properly address that? Anyway, enjoy.

Shekhar, Vani, your family, and your friends-thank you.
